"Easy Site to Use"
I’m on Newsday almost every morning and it’s just an easy site to deal with, the pages load fast for me, I can find the local news I’m looking for without clicking around forever, the menu is straightforward, and the articles read fine on my phone too, so there really isn’t much for me to complain about because it basically just works the way I need it to.
"Easy to use and works well"
I mostly use the Newsday app on my phone, it’s been solid. It loads fast and I haven’t had any freezing so far, unless I’m just getting lucky maybe. Articles open easily, and the notifications don’t feel overwhelming, which I really appreciate. It’s simple to use, and I guess that’s what matters most to me. I’d give it 5 stars.

"Solid Local Coverage"
I check Newsday regularly, mostly because they cover Long Island stories that the bigger news sites seem to skip over, probably because they don’t get enough clicks from them. The reporting is usually solid and easy to follow without feeling dragged out. I don’t agree with every opinion or angle, and sometimes I wonder what point they’re trying to steer readers toward, but overall the actual news coverage feels fair to me. Definitely a 5-star experience.

It’s hard to describe exactly, but the e-edition just hasn’t been working smoothly for me. Pages take a while to load, and sometimes they freeze altogether, which makes it frustrating to use...

"I still like sitting down with the actual..."
I still like sitting down with the actual newsday paper, but lately it’s been showing up in rough condition. A few mornings it was wet around the edges, pages were stuck together, or the bag was barely closed. One weekend I had planned to relax with coffee and the paper, and instead I spent half the time peeling pages apart and tossing sections that were basically ruined.
I get that weather happens, but for what it costs, this shouldn’t be such a regular thing. Customer service was polite enough when I reached out, but nothing really changed after that. I’m giving 2 stars because the news itself is still good, but the delivery and condition of the paper have been really frustrating

"Great daily sports updates"
I check in pretty much every day for Knicks and Mets news, and the coverage is always solid and easy to keep up with

"Finally, alerts I can actually manage"
I was a little worried newsday would flood me with notifications, but I was relieved after trying it out. I can choose the alerts I actually care about, like breaking news, weather, and local updates, without getting every tiny thing pushed to my phone. It’s also really easy to change the settings whenever I want. So far, the notifications have been helpful without being annoying, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

"Helpful for Keeping Up Locally"
I check it every day to see what’s going on around town. It’s just a decent way to stay informed about local stuff, and I think it’s good when people make the effort to pay attention to what’s happening in their own community.

"I mainly used newsday.com for the article archives..."
I mainly used newsday.com for the article archives, it did what I needed it to do. I was able to find a few older local stories without a huge hassle. Sure, the search feature could be a little smoother, but I don’t think that makes the whole site bad or anything. Overall, it was helpful for what I was looking for.

"Actually useful for finding stuff to do"
I mostly use newsday.com to check out entertainment listings, it’s been damn handy. I can jump on there and quickly find concerts, local shows, festivals, and random smaller events I probably would’ve totally missed otherwise.
The pages are easy enough to skim, and I like that it keeps a bunch of Long Island stuff in one spot instead of making me dig through a bunch of crappy sites. It’s not flashy or anything, but it does the job, and I’ve already found a few solid weekend plans because of it.

I’m happy with these newsletters because they really match what I like reading every day. They feel useful instead of annoying, and I actually look forward to checking them.

"Usually shows up every morning"
I mean, so far the paper has been there every morning, and it’s always been on time. Not much else to say, really, it’s been reliable.

"Carrier could be a little more careful, right?"
Newsday itself has been totally fine for me, but the delivery can be a bit frustrating sometimes. The carrier occasionally throws the paper way too far from the porch, which isn’t the end of the world, but it’s annoying when it’s raining or I’m trying to get out the door quickly. I feel like it’s reasonable to expect it to land a little closer, isn’t it?

"Good local stories, but paywall too fast"
I do like reading some of the local stories on here, they’re good honestly. But the paywall shows up really quick, maybe too quick for me. I understand they need people to subscribe and all that, fair enough, but a few more free articles before getting blocked would be nice, I think.

"Always feels up to date"
Every time I check, there’s something fresh to look at. It just feels updated, updated in a good way, like I’m not seeing the same old stuff over and over

"Billing felt confusing"
I signed up thinking the price was straightforward, but... the billing ended up feeling kind of sneaky. It wasn’t really clear what I was being charged for, and cancelling took more effort than it should have. I just wish they showed the costs more clearly before taking any money.

"Nice puzzles for a morning break"
I mainly go on newsday.com for the crossword and the other puzzles, honestly. They usually load without any trouble, and the layout is easy enough to figure out, which I appreciate before I’ve fully had my coffee. The ads can get a little irritating here and there, but they’re not the worst thing ever. Overall, it’s a good way to kill some time with a cup of coffee in the morning.

"I used the service to post an..."
I used the service to post an obituary, and that part went smoothly. It got published without much hassle, which I appreciated. But this is where it got annoying: trying to deal with the classifieds felt a lot clunkier than it should have. The process wasn’t terrible, but it definitely could be more user-friendly.

"Decent for local news"
I read newsday a few times a week, mostly just to keep up with local stuff. It’s fine overall, and some of the articles are actually useful, but I do find myself skipping a lot too. The subscription isn’t awful, I’m just not totally sure it’s worth the price for how much I use it. If it were a little cheaper or included more, I’d probably feel better about it. Anyway.
